New chillout downbeat tunes from Ganga and Petrol

Monday, December 22nd, 2008

So I guess its time for some new writings about my chilll out downbeat tunes.

I had a bit of a rough month, finishing off some film projects and getting my latest tracks ready. That means which ones goes on the album and which ones

stays behind in the dark. Its tough decisions, and it takes so much time listening again and again and then making a new mix and then suddenly getting new ideas so you have to start all over again.

I want the album out in January – or at least I want to hold a finished master in my hand in January. That should be possible.

Also been working on my DJ set which is getting more and more fun. I am finding lots of stuff I can play around with when I DJ with my own tracks also. I use Ableton LIve for that – great fun.

Also working on new tracks with Daniel Masson and playing gigs with my new secret band (which is not my band by the way).

Releasing new Petrol EP called “Multipassion”. Just finished it a week or two ago and it should be up for download in a few weeks. My two collaborators on this project is Helle Chirholm and Steen Kyed on vocals and guitar. Steen and me producing.

Then I am making a new website for Flinc Music which should be up and running some time into the new year. That’s hard work.

So yes lots of stuff happening.

Spend the time making music instead?

Thursday, December 11th, 2008

One of my friends stated the other day that maybe it would be more worth my while to spend some of the time I spend online, promoting, writing, getting my music out in the world – maybe I would be better of spending my time making music – maybe I would just this very day make that one tune that I would love – and maybe someone else as well – for the rest of my life – the BIG tune – the best music – the one track that I would be remembered for.

But it doesnt work this way for me. I think I have the perfect mix of office/studio time. I can normally set most of my working hours as I wish, and if I dont have to much film job, I can pretty much decide when to do what. Ofcourse if there is a release round the corner or some tracks that needs to be finished, this Is what I do.

I think my friends suggestion was well meant and I will take it up to consideration.

I will soon have an album ready, I am just at the finishing point, deciding which track goes and which doesnt. Hard work – hours of listening in different  invironments and while doing different stuff – sometimes just listening concentrated, sometimes listening while vacuum cleaning – sometimes listening in the car and sometimes not listening for a week! That last one is important too.

I will soon have a chilled downbeat album ready – hopefully early next year.

Which reminds me, I am gonna have a fun start on the new year.

I am going to play at Buddha Bar in Dubai on New Years Eve. Thats gonna be great fun. And a good start on the new year. Never been to that place before and I am really looking forward to see whats happening there – luckyli I get to bring my girlfriend, which is nice, now that it s new years eve.

Was it Dave Letterman who said New Years Eve is amateurs night – well then so be it.

Arent we all amateurs in the big game.

Saturday, December 6th, 2008

I just recieved the album in the mail today, and even though I heard it many times allready, I must admit I am happy to have it on my shelf. All physical and raw.

Its beautiful, sensual and very full of emotion.

Its a fantastic album and I can only recommend it. I give you someof the titles:

Manifesto

Black& white

consequences

Joe sent me

Hurricanes

Life Force

True

The Hook

Love lives in the dark

Save yourself

The poem

Once in a while

Heart of wax

Okay that was actually all the titles. I made a downbeat and very chilled remix of the beautiful last track “Heart of wax” – listen here www.myspace.com/gangalounge – and I believe there is a remix album coming out also.
